This is Franky Boy of Smashed! writing. Before writing any nonsense, I want to tell you more facts about the history of Smashed!: Smashed! was found in early 1995 by Franky Boy, The Squat, Olaf, Viper and Sub Zero. It was found by merging the crews AXiS (Franky Boy, Sub Zero, Olaf) and Resplendence (Viper, The Squat). At that time Olaf and I made the 5th place at the Austrian IBM multi- media compo. Not too bad, as we both have only been 15 years old! Over summer 1995, Darwin joined us, he's a coder from Passau, Germany. Since early 1996, Sebastian Kienzl from Scream does some musics for us. He does some coding, too. Until summer 1996, we were doing some smaller projects, also some "releases", but their're more locally, it's nothing we could be really proud of. One of them, for example, is S.M.i.K, the Smashed!'s module- player interface kit, coded mainly by the Squat, Franky Boy (that's me) did some additional coding. It was done in Pascal. The Squat is currently working on SMiK 32, using Watcom C/C++... In Aug. 1996, Science joined us. He's doin' musics and comes from Sweden. Later, in Okt. 1996, Science left us. At the same time, Doomsday (Kurt Schlager) from Graz/Austria joined us. - Finally, we've got our own gfx-man now! We from Smashed! also decided to remove Darwin from the member-list, because we haven't heard anything from him for at least half a year! :.-( Now, Viper and The Squat have finished their school. This is all written from my point of view (Franky Boy). *** The Squat (Florian Reitmeir) *** He has just finished his school (specialized on information-techniques). Also, he was the guy that called me some GREAT day in late 1994, this was the beginning of Smashed! The Squat is very interested in technical things, but his biggest hobby is probably the computer! :) *** Viper (Christian Prohaszka) *** Viper has been a good friend of The Squat for a long time and attended the same school as Squat did. As we all, Viper *loves* his computer. BTW, here's a funny little story about him: When he orderd his new Pentium-machine, he sold his old 386, and, unfortunately, it took a *long* time until the company called ACTR*N delivered the new PC. They told him it should not take longer than 1 week... In fact, it took longer than 3 months!!! Well, to complete the story, every time you saw Viper, he informed us about all his new records in all the games he had played on his SNES, GB etc...! ;-))) All in all, he's a pretty cool guy, and he wants to become a professional game-programmer in the future. Be aware, he does awesome codes! *** Sub Zero (Peter Schneider) *** Sub Zero attends a better kind of "highschool". He's to learn Latin at school, too. - And, as we all know, Latin sucks! - But, he does a good job and will probably finish the school in the next year(s). Sub Zero is also very talented in doing gfx and similar stuff like that. I've known him for years now, he's a cool guy! - He likes going out and most of all the stuff most of other young people like... *** Doomsday (Kurt Schlager) *** He's from Graz/Austria. Since he's quite a new member, and I don't know him good enough, I'll wait with the characteristics until I can tell you something else than nonsense! ;-) *** Olaf (Hannes Friembichler) *** Olaf attends the same school as I do, it's a business oriented university preb. school (sounds horrible, doesn't it? ;) ). In his freetime he does also lots of other things than doin' gfx for Smashed!... ...but I hope we'll get some awesome ray-traced piccys from him for our mega-demo. He's quite good at that! He likes also going out and especially going to Rave-parties etc. *** Franky Boy (Frank Baumgartner) *** Finally, that's the description of me: As mentioned above, I attend a kind of business oriented school. Beside that, I'm doin' the kind of school The Squat & Viper did, so I've got to study for my own from books and send the written tests to a school. That's a lot of work, to do all beside my BIGGEST hobby: the computer! Beside the computer, I love to learn everything about technical stuff, I like to chat with girls at parties (even if I'm too often too shy to get more out of it! ;) ). I also like to go out dancing etc...
